Newcrest Mining's Cadia Valley Operations has continued its support of the Bowen CTC with a $15,000 grant through its Cadia Cares Program. Cadia have also given funding for cleaning supplies through their Beyond the Curve program.
The Bowen CTC is ready to reopen after cleaning supplies were generously donated by Newcrest Mining.
The Bowen CTC has received a grant to completely outfit the centre with new computers, printers and chairs. Nationals Upper House member Sam Farraway was on hand to present the cheque to centre manager Paula Townsend.
Newcrest have donated a brand new whiteboard and reward chart designed to show the children's good behaviour. Newcrest have also helped redesign brand new certificates for the children.
The Bowen CTC have recently celebrated their 10th anniversary. Nedra Burns (Newcrest Mining), Scott Maunder (Orange City Council), Ron Gander (President of BRAG) celebrated the occasion with Paula Townsend and many of the local children that frequent the centre.
